PLACEMENT READER 5 FREE (Read me after Book 5)

Title: Free Placement Reader 5: The Pig Who Unpacked the Picnic

Description:

Is your child ready for Book 6, or should they start with Book 5? This free little story will tell you in about ten minutes.

Jack leaves a picnic basket on the bench for just a minute, and his pet pig can’t wait. Your child reads the story out loud while you listen and keep a simple tally. The story uses only what Books 1–5 teach, including word parts like un-, re- and mis-, -le words like gentle and middle, and the endings -able and -age, all in plain print with no reading marks.

What’s inside:

• A one-page parent guide: how to listen, how to score, and what the result means
• A “Still tricky?” page that names the Book 5 lesson for each word your child got stuck on
• The story as a little book you print and fold, or read on a tablet
• Where to go next, with links to Books 4, 5 and 6

A child who reads it smoothly, needing help with no more than 1 word in 20, has finished Book 5 and is ready for Book 6. If it feels too hard, try Placement Reader 4 first.

Free to print for your own child or students.
